In a blog post , Ho said the macOS app “is not authorized, is not approved , and is in no way affiliated with the official version of Notepad++,” adding that it is “misleading, inappropriate, and downright disrespectful to both the project and its users.”
“To be absolutely clear: Notepad++ has never had a macOS version,” Ho said.

The developer of the macOS version, Andrey Letov, said that he will be redesigning the Mac app and its corresponding website in the coming days: “In coordination with Don Ho, the creator of the original Notepad++, I will evolve the branding of the macOS version so that it stands on its own. These updates, including a new logo, a refined name, and possibly a new domain, will be released with version 1.0.6 in the coming days. Continuity for existing users is a priority, and I will make the transition as smooth as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
