The new Microsoft Windows 8.1 offers significant changes and additions compared to its predecessor , and below we list the 5 most important improvements that make it worth getting the new OS.
1. Start Button
It was one of the main requests from users who complained about the interface of the previous version.
So Windows 8.1 has a Start button, even if its use is not exactly the same as in the past, without that necessarily being a bad thing.
Now from here a full-screen page appears where the user can select a program, or find a file, or make a setting.
2. “Ready for action” desktop
If you still don't like the new Start menu, no problem. You can bypass by going straight to the desktop where you'll have placed your most frequently used applications.
To achieve this, simply set the option from the Toolbar to “go directly to the desktop instead of the Start menu”.
3. More apps on the screen
In Windows 8, the user could have a second application placed on the side along with the main application.
There is now the ability to display up to 4 applications simultaneously, if your screen resolution allows it.
4. Renovated Store
The Windows Store interface has been redesigned to make searching for apps more efficient and enjoyable. We also expect a web version of the store.
5. Smart Settings
The smartly designed Settings Page puts an end to the back and forth in the traditional Control Panel , presenting four times the options compared to Windows 8 and giving you direct access to basic options such as Display Settings, Devices, Mouse and Keyboard, while instantly giving you basic information such as the status of your PC's memory and processor.
