Maryland-based dermatology provider Anne Arundel Dermatologyhas disclosed a data breach affecting approximately 1.9 million people.

Breach notifications sent to those affected reveal that hackers had access to the company's systems for about three months, from February 14 to May 13 .
The investigation launched after the breach was detected indicated that the attacker may have obtained files containing personal and medical data of patients.
Anne Arundel Dermatology offers general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology services at over 60 locations in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions of the United States.

The healthcare company was unable to determine whether the hackers viewed or stole personal and medical data and says it has no evidence of misuse or fraudulent activity as a result of the incident. However, those affected are being offered identity protection services for 24 months.
The health data breach registry maintained by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services revealed Thursday that the incident at Anne Arundel Dermatology has affected more than 1.9 million people.
No known ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the attack on Anne Arundel Dermatology.
Many of the healthcare revealed in recent months have affected hundreds of thousands or even millions of people.
