Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have sued the makers of the hit video game "Palworld. "
Originally released in January of this year for PC and Xbox, including Xbox Game Pass, Palworld has proven to be a huge success.

In its first month of release, Palworld recorded Xbox's "biggest month on console" in terms of play time, with 10 million players enjoying Palworld on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, while an additional 15 million users participated via Steam.
The Nintendo and Pokémon duo announced Thursday that they are taking Tokyo-based game developer Pocketpair to court over alleged patent infringement, seeking an injunction and damages.

Often called “Pokemon with guns,” Palworld is one of the most successful games of the year, attracting over 25 million players within just a month of its release in mid-January. In the game, players capture and train cute creatures called “pals,” which, like the players, have the ability to use weapons.
After the game's release, The Pokemon Company said it would investigate and take action for any intellectual property infringement. Pocketpair did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Thursday's developments. In July, it announced a joint venture with Sony to promote the game globally.
