Omni Hotels & Resorts has confirmed that recent outages systems nationwide cyberattack.
In response to this incident, Omni has taken the affected systems offline and security specialists in the IT department are working to restore and bring them back online.
“As of Friday, March 29, Omni Hotels & Resorts has been responding to a cyberattack on its systems. Upon learning of this issue, Omni immediately took steps to take its systems offline and protect and retain data its,” the hotel chain told BleepingComputer.

This caused extensive outages across multiple systems. However, the company says many of them are back up and running normally. Omni Hotels has launched an investigation with a leading cybersecurity response team.
The hotel chain has not provided details on the nature of the cyberattack, but according to BleepingComputer, it is likely a ransomware. The chain is in the process of restoring encrypted servers from backups.
No ransomware gang has yet claimed responsibility for the Omni Hotels cyberattack, but if the company doesn't pay the ransom, the hackers could soon publicly threaten to leak potentially stolen data.
