Tinder has launched a new feature called “ Tinder Matchmaker ” that will allow users’ friends to family and potential matches suggest . Matchmakers don’t need to have a profile on the dating app to view or suggest potential matches.
A Tinder user must start a “Tinder Matchmaker session” either directly from a profile card or within the app. If you see someone you’re interested in matching with, you can share a unique link with up to 15 people within 24 hours. Once a matchmaker receives the link, they can log in to Tinder or continue as a guest.

The matchmaker will have access to profiles that they can like , and if they do, they will appear as a recommendation for the original user . However, the matchmaker can't do much. For example, they can't send messages, and it's ultimately up to the Tinder user (not the matchmaker) to decide whether or not to match with someone else.
“For years, singles have been asking their friends to help them find their next match on Tinder, and now we’re making it so easy with Tinder Matchmaker,” says Melissa Hobley, Tinder’s Chief Marketing Officer.

The new feature will provide a chance for family members of users to see the 'online dating' aspect as well. Tinder claims that this new feature is expected to significantly increase family involvement in finding a partner, something that was previously impossible.
This move is undoubtedly a step towards further involving family and friends in the individual's daily life, which for many people may be a positive step forward.
