In addition to releasing new software updates for iPad and Mac next week, Apple announced that its Fitness+ service will also be coming to iPhone on October 24. To use the service, you'll need an iPhone with iOS 16.1 or later, but you'll also be able to access it from iPad and Apple TV. If you want to see your fitness metrics on a bigger screen while you work out, you won't need an Apple TV — any Roku player with AirPlay support will do.

Even so, you may still want Apple's smartwatch if personalized performance data is something you're after. Alternatively, the band is useful if you want to listen to Time to Walk or Time to Run workouts without taking your iPhone with you.

Some of the other changes you'll encounter include an improved battery life icon, compatibility with shared iCloud Photo Library , and clean energy charging . In short, many of the things Apple promised with its operating system update are finally coming true — no matter what device you're using.
