Microsoft has announced a new endpoint security solution called Microsoft Defender for Business, which is designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses .
Microsoft Defender for Business is a security solution that helps businesses with up to 300 employees protect themselves from cyber threats, while being affordable and easy to use.

This security solution is being released in response to the dramatic increase in ransomware attacks (up 300%) in the past year. Over 50% of these attacks affect small and medium-sized businesses.
Microsoft Defender for Business helps small and medium-sized businesses protect themselves from a variety of threats, including malware and ransomware on Windows, macOS, iOS , and Android devices .
Another advantage is that it is easy to use, so that it can also be used by businesses that do not have a specialized security team.
“We are excited to introduce Microsoft Defender for Business, a new endpoint security solution that will soon be available in preview,” said Jon Maunder, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Microsoft.

Some of the key features of Defender for Business are:
- Simplified deployment and management for IT administrators who may not have the expertise to address today's evolving threat landscape.
- Virus protection and endpoint detection and response to identify and respond to advanced attacks.
- Automated investigation and remediation so customers can respond quickly to threats.
- Threat and vulnerability management methods, which proactively notify users of weaknesses and misconfigurations in software.
“Small and medium-sized businesses will be able to strengthen their security by moving from traditional antivirus protection to next-generation protection, detection and response, and threat and vulnerability management—all with simplified setup and management,” says Microsoft.

Microsoft says the new security solution will soon be available in preview for customers and IT partners.
Once widely available, you will be able to purchase Defender for Business directly from Microsoft and through Microsoft Partner Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) channels as a standalone offering or as part of Microsoft 365 Business Premium.
