Matthew Miller announced the release of the new Fedora 31 version. The new version includes a special isolated container function called Fedora Toolbox.
“If you haven't used Fedora Toolbox, it would be great to try it. It is a simple tool for launching and managing your personal workspaces in containers, so you can develop or test in an isolated area. It runs very simply with a “toolbox” and an enter from the command line. The workflow in containers is vital for users of the ostree variants of the Fedora distribution such as CoreOS, IoT and Silverblue, but it is also extremely useful on any workstation or even on every server.
We will be developing this feature further in the coming months, so your feedback is welcome.
Fedora Workstation is focused on the desktop and specific software developers who want a “Linux operating system that just works”.
This release brings GNOME 3.34, which has significant performance improvements, especially noticeable on low-resource devices.”
The announcement provides more details for those interested.
The Fedora distribution is available in Workstation and Server editions as well as many different spins developed by the community.
