Entitled "Default is not an option", ESET Hellas presented its position regarding the modern threat landscape and the need for a complete reconfiguration of information infrastructures, within the context of its participation in the 6th Infocom Security 2016.
According to the speech of Yiannis Pavlidis, Presales & Tech Support Engineer of ESET Hellas, the installation of the Security suite does not constitute the completion of Endpoint protection in a corporate network, as is often believed; on the contrary, it should be considered the beginning of the process.
In most platform installations, there is a tendency to keep most options in the “default settings”. However, sincedefault settings are by nature designed to suit the majority of users, they cannot work 100% in every company, as there are always different infrastructures.
Special mention was made of the proper utilization of the solutions, with Mr. Pavlidis noting that "In essence, what Administrators need to do is check the settings and capabilities of the products, in order to identify configurations and additional functions that make a difference in protection, such as ESET LiveGrid, Reporting, Automation and the general monitoring of trends, both in threats and in protection techniques."
