Hackers who oppose Canada's anti-terrorism law and claim it affects the security integrity and privacy of citizens have breached the computer systems of the Police Association of Ontario (PAO) and stolen sensitive information from its members.
The data they managed to steal was published online and is still online today. It contains data from three databases, and as you can imagine, it contains information from hundreds of people.
A hacker using the Twitter handle “ro0ted” posted the links to the data and announced that the hack was an act of protest.
Anonymous hackers recently compromised Canadian government websites, such as Canada.ca or the website of the Ministry of Finance and the Board of Directors of the Ministry of Finance.
The data still online contains details of four government employees, with email addresses, the name of one of them, IP addresses and hashed passwords.
Club member information consists of first and last names, email addresses, city they are located in, and passwords in plain text format.
