Your dog's activity is in the eyes of big brother. A small metal disc is placed on the dog's collar. The device is equipped with an accelerometer and records every activity of the pet.
How lively the dog was throughout the day is displayed directly on the owner's mobile phone by simply downloading the corresponding application called Whistle.
Those who are fans of social media and communication have the ability to share photos and comments with four other friends who have this app on their phones.
For even more advanced users, there is the ability to compare your dog's performance with that of other lively four-legged friends.
"We don't just see it in a small percentage of pet owners, but there are many who treat their pets like family members. They have their pets like children and they treat them like that. So what we're doing for these pet parents is that there's communication between them, there's contact and they can rest assured that their animals are away," explains Steven Edelman, co-founder of Whistle.
Currently, the application is only available for iPhone and costs around 100 euros. However, in spring 2014, it will also be available for Android.
