Vodafone in Germany hacked, data of two million customers leaked

Vodafone in Germany has been breached by hackers , company officials said. The hackers managed to extract information from around two million customers. The company said in a statement that the attack appears to be highly sophisticated and that the hackers may have been supported by someone inside the company.Vodafone

The stolen information includes names, addresses, genders, dates of birth, bank account numbers and banking passwords. Credit card details, passwords, mobile phone numbers and transaction data were not compromised by the hackers, the company assured its customers.

The attack has been reported to law enforcement. Authorities initially asked the telecommunications company not to make the data breach public so as not to disrupt their investigation. In the meantime, they have identified a possible suspect whose home they have already searched.

Customers of the German company have received a warning to change their passwords and credit card details.
