If you think Google Glass is a far-fetched and bizarre product, wait until you hear about the company’s plans to develop a project called “password pills.” AllThingsD reports that Regina Dugan, the former head of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and current director of Motorola’s special projects division, revealed this week that they are working on “an ingestible pill that uses stomach acid as a battery to generate an 18-bit internal signal” that would turn “the wearer’s entire body” into a password.
An equally creepy project, which Dugan mentioned at the D11 conference held this week, is that Motorola-owned Google is working with a company called MC10 to design “an electronic tattoo that could be used to authenticate a user” in place of a traditional password.
We may never see any of these projects as they are still in the experimental stage, but everything indicates that Google has taken the issue of security very seriously.
