The above photo, or rather a render, of the iPad Mini is currently making the rounds on the internet, as the site Mobileaks claims that it is designed according to what a reliable source told them who has seen the new iPad Mini or iPad Mini 2 if you prefer up close.
The specs given by Mobileaks are as follows, always according to the same source.
- 7.9 inch Retina display
- 2048 x 1536 pixels
- 324ppi
- Apple A6X processor
- 8.0 megapixel camera
- 2.0 megapixel front camera
- 16, 32, 64 GB internal memory
- 7.5 mm thick
At a quick glance, everything seems to be correct, although it is surprising that the existence of a Retina display is considered certain. However, beyond that, the 324 ppi is also suspicious since the iPad Mini 2 should have the same as the iPhone 5, i.e. be at 326 ppi.
Finally, if we take a closer look at the photo that theoretically shows the new iPad Mini, we realize that its bezel has shrunk even further, especially at the edges, which we don't think makes sense since Apple and especially Jonathan Ive were completely satisfied with its current design. So why change it so soon?
Add to all of the above the fact that Mobileaks claims that we will see the above model in the 3rd quarter of this year, i.e. sometime during the summer. Although we would really like something like this, we don't think it will happen since most sources, based on what Tim Cook himself revealed, expect the appearance of a Retina iPad Mini near the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014.
