Especially in Greece, having good grades is the best reward for a student and a guarantee for the future, since there is a perception that high grades mean later significant professional rehabilitation and success.
We honestly don't believe this, personally speaking, since there are many successful people, especially in technology, who were mediocre students in middle and high school, and some of them didn't even graduate from university.
An example here is Steve Jobs, one of the greatest visionaries in the technological field and one of the most successful professionals. Mr. Steven Paul Jobs was recognized as an intellectual during his lifetime and so one would expect that in his school years he would also have been an excellent student.
The answer is no, since as we previously knew, he dropped out of Reed College after just six months and never graduated. The Atlantic today dug into his FBI file that was released a few months ago and found his grades from his school days as a student at Homestead High School (1968-1972). So Steve Jobs had a lot of Bs and Cs on his tests, which means that while he wasn't a bad student, he certainly wasn't the best in his school, the one with the highest score, and someone who, looking at his test scores, you would say that a few years later he would build a unique empire that would make him one of the richest people on earth.
