Apple filed a new patent last September, as revealed by the site AppleInsider, which concerns a hybrid laptop whose screen is removable and can be used as a tablet.
The patent application describes a computer that has a base and a display that can be removed. It also describes how the display has a wireless communication chip with the base that has a counterpart that transmits data to the display. Two “wireless power” chips are also described, with the purpose of transferring power from the source to the display.
The above references clearly describe the wireless image transfer to the screen from the device base, as well as the wireless charging of the screen/tablet.
The "marriage" of Macbooks with iPads would be a very interesting development for fans of Apple products, if a similar device were to materialize.
