From faraway Las Vegas, as part of the Consumer Electronics Show, the world's largest computer manufacturer, Hewlett Packard, presented new "Sleekbooks" with Windows 8. These are two laptops with a 15.6-inch that are based on AMD processors, specifically the award-winning A-Series APU (Trinity).
Both Sleekbooks, HP Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook (with touch screen, supported resolution 1368 x 768, AMD A8 with 6GB RAM and 750GB disk) and HP Pavilion Sleekbook (without touch support, A6 with 4GB RAM, 500GB) feature a 15.6-inch high-definition (HD) display, up to 1TB of storage for applications, movies, music, photos, documents and other files, Dolby Advanced Audio sound technology, a removable battery and a full numeric keypad. They have HDMI, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 interface ports .
HP Sleekbooks also incorporate a range of exclusive HP technologies, such as HP CoolSense, which dynamically adjusts cooling levels according to user preferences to help keep the computer from overheating, and HP ProtectSmart, which ensures your data is not lost if the computer is accidentally dropped.
Additionally, users gain access to HP Connected Music, which offers music lovers a new way to enjoy their favorite artists through HP’s partnership with Universal Music Group, the leading music company. Consumers can also take advantage of exclusive HP Music Rewards Packages through the HP Connected Music platform, which is integrated into HP Windows 8 PCs. Offers include the opportunity to win unique gifts and VIP concert tickets.
- The HP Pavilion Sleekbook is expected to be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in February with an initial suggested retail price of €499.
- The HP Pavilion TouchSmart Sleekbook is expected to be released in Greece in February with an initial suggested retail price of €599.
