Talking about safety and hearing the name of the company Samsung, our minds will certainly go to some new software regardingour mobile devices. We are surprised by the name “The Safety Truck” as well as the innovative idea that the experts of the giant company have come up with to take our safety to other levels. The reason for the trucks is with screens on their back so that the driver following the truck can have visibility and pass it safely.
The project is being run in Argentina, which is one of Samsung's largest markets and therefore maintains a large fleet of trucks that transport its devices within the country. However, Argentina also has a very high number of road accidents, with Samsung statistics showing that every hour one person loses their life in a road accident, with 80% of these accidents being due to overtaking.
Knowing that overtaking a large truck is extremely dangerous, due to the limited visibility of both oncoming traffic and the road ahead of the truck, Samsung had the bright idea of equipping its fleet of trucks with wireless cameras at the front and monitors at the rear. The wireless cameras are mounted on the front bumper and the monitors are integrated into the rear doors of the truck.
This allows the driver of the vehicle behind to monitor in real time what is happening in front of the truck via the door screen before deciding to overtake. It should be noted that the cameras have a night vision mode so that they can be functional even at night.
