The 4th generation of Gorilla Glass, the specially reinforced glass for smartphone screens, makes mobile phones even more resistant to drops and impacts.
Corning, which supplies many companies including Apple and Samsung, has introduced the 4th generation of Gorilla Glass, stating that it is designed to be 2 times more resistant to drops on hard surfaces than any other glass on the market.
So after Apple's failure to put processed sapphire screens on the new iPhone 6, since the company that had undertaken this project went bankrupt, Corning is making a very good move with the announcement of the new Gorilla Glass 4, which apparently will be part of the new smartphones that will be released in 2015.
