It will increase the durability of smartphones
No matter how expensive your smartphone is, no matter how new the version of Gorilla Glass that protects it is, the risk of the screen breaking is always high.
One wrong move, a fall on hard ground and the Full HD display with its crystal clarity becomes shattered.
But there is good news on the horizon, as at the University of Akron, in faraway Ohio, a team of researchers has created the completely unbreakable screen surface for your smartphone.
It is a layer of transparent electrodes applied to a film of polymer material. The total thickness of the surface is thinner than the screens currently used in smartphones.
The new 100% unbreakable screen now being developed in Akron is also flexible, while its production cost is clearly cheaper than the cost of current displays.
