Simple and effective management of cloud servers from various providers for small or medium-sized businesses is promised by a Greek startup company, mist.io, which offers a practical platform accessible from anywhere.
mist.io was created in 2013 by 4 engineers (Christos Psaltis, Dimitris Moraitis, Markos Gogoulos and Michalis Mouzourakis), who have been working together since 2009 and laid the foundations for their platform in 2011, in order to meet their own needs for the company they had at the time.
Last summer, iQbility, part of Quest Holdings, and PJ Tech Catalyst, part of Piraeus Bank, invested in mist.io. The total investment is $100,000, of which IQbility and PJTechCatalyst contributed $20,000 and $80,000 respectively, while the company is now hosted on IQbility's infrastructure and seeks to develop synergies with Quest group companies.
Practically, Mist.io is a service aimed at system administrators and developers with the aim of helping them simplify the management and monitoring of their servers. It supports all popular public and private clouds so that the user has at a glance, a picture of the operation of their servers, regardless of which provider they are on. In the event that a problem occurs on the servers, the user is immediately informed and can act to correct the problem, from wherever they are and from any device with Internet access. In this way, users drastically improve their reaction time and increase the amount of time that their services are in operation (uptime).
Management from anywhere
According to Mr. Psaltis, who serves as CEO at mist.io, the main advantage of the platform is that a business can manage its servers from anywhere, as all that is required is Internet access and the use of a web browser. It is also possible to access the service from any mobile device (smartphone or tablet), which further increases the usability of mist.io.
Customers pay a low, monthly subscription fee and there is already a fairly significant number of businesses - mainly outside of Greece - that use the mist.io platform.
