A seminar on internet security was successfully held by the Directorate for the Prosecution of Electronic Crime at Koropi City Hall
The Ministry of Public Order and Citizen Protection, in collaboration with the Directorate for the Prosecution of Electronic Crime, organized yesterday (28-09-2014), at the Koropi Town Hall, a seminar on safe surfing on the internet.
The conference was mainly aimed at parents, children and adults who wish to learn more about ways to address the challenges of the digital world and adapt to new data.
The conference was attended by the Director of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, Brigadier General Emmanouil Sfakianakis, as well as specialized officers of the Service, while the General Police Director of Attica, Major General Konstantinos Mihairinas, delivered a speech.
The topics developed during the conference were:
- the mission of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate,
- the purpose of organizing the workshops,
- the crimes and the way they are committed via the internet, as well as prevention practices,
- the phenomena of online violence, the dangers posed by social networking sites, the prevention and treatment of risks related to new technologies, as well as
- statistical data concerning the penetration of Greeks into the internet and the cases that the Cybercrime Prosecution Service is called upon to deal with.
The purpose of the conference was to promote the new innovative application "CYBERKID", as well as the activity of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, which aims to prevent, investigate and suppress crimes and antisocial behaviors committed via the internet or other means of electronic communication. At the same time, a key priority was to inform young people about ways to address the challenges of the digital world, as well as adapt to new data.
