The Cybercrime Directorate informed parents and students during the event «Portes Ouvertes» at Leontios High School of Patission
The Cybercrime Directorate informed parents and students, providing advice for safer navigation on the Internet, within the framework of the event « Porto Ouvertes », which took place on the two‑day period 27 and 28-09-2014 at the Leontios High School of Patissia, while in a specially arranged space (kiosk) it distributed informational leaflets with advice for safer navigation on the Internet.
Also, during the event, a presentation of the application (application) «Cyberkid» was made, through which students can be informed about safe browsing and the dangers of the internet, play online games and communicate instantly and in real time (real time), in case of danger or threat, with officers of the Cybercrime Division, via the «Cyber Alert».
Additionally, in the pavilion area, electronic computers were operating, which gave children the ability to play the game «Cyber Expert», as well as other games that are included on the website www.cyberkid.gr.
Finally, during the two-day event, specialized officers of the Cybercrime Directorate informed both parents and children about the following topics:
- Internet protection measures,
- The phenomenon of Cyberbullying,
- Social networking media,
- Cries of despair via the internet (Suicide prevention) and
- Cybercrime and applicable legislation.
