Facebook ranks its videos on users' homepage

We've said many times that Facebook sorts the content on users' homepages and chooses which posts from friends and pages will make it to the top based on various factors. The various factors are announced in the News Feed FYI series, and this time it's video posts .

When a post is created with a video that has been uploaded directly to Facebook, then in addition to the likes, comments, and shares of the post, whether the user clicks to watch a video and how long they watch it.

If users click and watch enough videos, then Facebook will offer them even more on their homepage, while conversely, those who do not watch videos will be offered fewer videos on their homepage.
