Impersonating an underage student on Facebook, he blackmailed underage girls into sending him indecent photos of themselves so that he would not post other photos of them that he already had on the internet – A search of his home found numerous files on electronic storage media containing child pornography
A 29-year-old Greek national was arrested on Tuesday night, in the wider area of Magnesia, by police officers from the Volos Security Sub-Directorate of the Thessaly Regional Security Directorate, and a case was filed against him for child pornography, according to e-volos.gr.
As it turned out, the 29-year-old, over the last 9 months, creating a profile on the social networking website "Facebook" posing as an underage student, approached and chatted online and by phone with underage girls.
In the context of this communication, after he convinced them to send him semi-nude photos of themselves, he then, under the threat of publishing these photos on the internet, forced them to send him other photos of themselves with nude content.
In a search carried out at his home, in the presence of a Judicial Officer, the following were found and seized:
– a laptop computer,
– a portable data storage device (USB) and
– (78) digital data storage discs (CDs).
From the on-site autopsy, stored photographs of underage girls were found in the seized evidence, which will be sent for the necessary laboratory tests, as well as numerous other files containing child pornography.
In addition, the mobile phone he used for telephone communication with the minors was confiscated from the 29-year-old's possession.
A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Volos Security Sub-Directorate of the Thessaly Regional Security Directorate, while the arrested person will be brought before the Volos Criminal Court Prosecutor.
