Six pedophiles, posing as minors with fake profiles, are "fishing" for little girls on the social network Stardoll, which is the equivalent of Facebook in the children's world.
Pedophiles manage to convince children through various tricks to "upload" naked or semi-nude photos of themselves on the website to satisfy their sick appetites.
The Cybercrime Unit, which is investigating the case, has already identified the electronic traces of the fake minors and arrests are expected in the coming days.
The issue is highlighted by Espresso, which reports the following in its relevant report:
"The internationally known and particularly popular social network Stardoll, which is aimed mainly at underage girls, which is why it is called the "Facebook of minors" and is considered safe, has become the favorite website of pedophiles.".
This revelation was made by the Cybercrime Prosecution, discovering that the site is full of pedophiles with fake profiles, who "fish" for minors to satisfy their sick sexual instincts.
According to information from Espresso, recently the Cybercrime Unit has launched sweeping investigations into the specific website, which is accessed by children between the ages of 8 and 15, as there were well-founded suspicions of numerous invasions by pedophiles who use various tricks to convince them to upload nude or semi-nude photos to their profiles.
The police have already managed to "block" at least six pedophiles, four of whom in the countryside, who appeared as minors and had trapped girls aged 10 to 11 and asked them to post naked photos of themselves.
In some cases, the mothers themselves realized the chilling threat when they caught their children taking half-naked photos in the bathroom because the unknown "peer-aged" friend they had met on Stardoll had asked them to.
These are three specific cases that occurred in Athens and, as the parents found out when talking to their children, their supposed online friend had convinced them with various tricks to have their photo taken, even instructing them exactly how to do it so that their parents wouldn't notice anything.
The parents briefly acted as detectives themselves and spoke with their children's underage friends, only to realize to their horror that they were dealing with adult and even dangerous pedophiles.
Afterwards, of course, they contacted the Cybercrime Unit and reported the serious incidents they experienced at home.
The police began talking to the pedophiles who had created fake profiles posing as underage Stardoll users in order to identify them.
Immediately afterwards, they began laboratory research to identify their electronic traces.
According to information, four suspects have already been identified in the province and two in Athens, and arrests will be made in the coming days.
It is worth mentioning that the cooperation between the Stardoll management company and the Cybercrime Prosecution Service was crucial for blocking pedophiles on children's Facebook."
