These browsers are still safe to use on Windows XP

Microsoft is retiring Windows XP, ending support for the hugely popular operating system. While using XP is a security risk from now on, those who can't part with it should know which browsers they can use to browse the Internet safely.

Internet Explorer

First, Internet Explorer is out of the question. The most common versions of Microsoft's browser used by XP fans are 7 and 8. Since the browser is already on version 11, it's somewhat outdated and presents security risks in its own right.

To make matters worse, Microsoft won't update these versions, which means you're vulnerable to malware.

Google Chrome

In October, Google made a big announcement for all XP fans. The company said it would continue to provide Chrome support for users of Microsoft's popular operating system.

Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox fans have no reason to panic now that Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft. The company announced late last year that it has no plans to end support for Windows XP.

 Opera

Opera will follow in the footsteps of other browsers and confirmed that it has no intention of ending support for XP versions after April 8th.
