That feeling of panic that overwhelms cell phone addicts - which is to say, almost everyone these days - when they see their battery dying will soon disappear. When there is a device that solves the problem in just 30 seconds, what is the reason for concern?
And yet, some Israelis have achieved this. Enter StoreDot claims to have created a new charging device that can fill a battery in 30 seconds, even if it is at absolute zero.
The device, unveiled in Tel Aviv on Monday, relies on tiny magnets called "nanodots" to enable this spectacular effect. The bad news for those eager to get their hands on it is that the device is still in the prototype stage, with the company estimating that it will enter mass production in 2016, as it first needs to make it compatible with all smartphones.
