Linux Linux Chrome OS has received an automatic security update and is even more secure. But it's not perfect. Google's Pwnium hacking competition and HP's annual Zero Day Initiative hacking competition Pwn2Own identified three new security issues in Chrome OS, which were quickly patched.
Pwnium, which is a hacking competition run by Google and security firm CanWestSec, was dedicated this year to finding security flaws in Chrome. The targets of this competition were either the Wi-Fi model of the ARM-based HP Chromebook 11 or the 2GB Wi-Fi-equipped model of the Acer C720 Intel Chromebook. In both cases, the Chromebooks were running the latest stable version of Chrome OS.
