Photo reveals a second, smaller lens on the back of the device
HTC knows how to make great phones. Its problem is that it doesn't know how to sell them. Its financials are inversely proportional to the quality of its smartphones, something the Taiwanese company hopes will change with the release of the new HTC One.
Keeping its distance from the hubbub of Mobile World Congress, HTC decided to present the successor to the excellent HTC One at a standalone event in London and New York on March 25. Many rumors and videos have already been released about the new HTC One (which will be called the “All New HTC One” or ХТС One 2 or New HTC One).
A photo coming from the @evleaks account, however, shows the originality of the new device in all its glory: Above the camera lens, there is a second, smaller lens! Next to it there is also a dual flash, but this is something we find on other mobile devices as well.
What could the double lens mean? The theories that have been put forward so far are the following:
a) Replaces digital zoom, magnifying distant subjects.
b) Improves low-light shots.
c) Speeds up the auto focus process.
d) Adds depth of field to shots.
Whatever the case may be, what matters is that HTC is betting heavily on the photographic qualities of the new HTC One, and this is something that certainly satisfies us.
