The Dali Museum's incredibly ridiculous app is the best thing on the internet!
If you've always wanted to "nail" the famous surrealist painter Salvador Dali, now you can. That's great news.
The Dalí Museum has therefore thrown the application The Dalí Museum Staring Contest at our feet.
The reason for the electronic frenzy is none other than the effort to support the museum and promote the temporary exhibition it hosts on Andy Warhol (Warhol: Art. Fame. Mortality).
Officially at least, because we are sure that the museum's leaders caught a bit of the painter's surreal creativity and decided to go crazy!
So what does the app do? It puts you in a staring contest with Dali, although as things stand, the app is biased and the painter always wins.
“Dali and Warhol’s obsession with celebrity is the driving force behind the Staring App,” says museum director Hank Hine, adding: “It puts us face to face with the stars of the art world, who stare at us. But they only interact with us for as long as we focus on them. Dali had a huge ego, after all. And the fact that he always wins the staring contest is a happy reminder of that.”
It is certain that both the great surrealist and the "patriarch" of pop art would more than endorse the application of Goodby Silverstein & Partners.
