The website of the United Kingdom Council for Postgraduate Education (ukcge.ac.uk) has been compromised by a hacker going by the alias “smitt3nz.” The attacker not only defaced the website, but also leaked information stolen from the site’s databases.
Judging by the message posted on the compromised website, the hacker simply wanted to show that the website lacked proper security.
The Twitter account of smitt3nz was recently suspended after he posted the link to the leaked data. However, Cyber War News reports that the file posted online contains the email addresses and encrypted passwords of 636 users.
