Apple plans to integrate Apple Intelligence and Siri into more of its apps in iOS 27, including the Camera app, according to reports from Bloomberg. The Camera app in iOS 27 will feature a dedicated Siri feature that will be available alongside the existing Photo, Video, Portrait , and Panorama. When Siri is enabled, the shutter button in the existing Camera app will display the Apple Intelligence logo, letting users know that Siri features are available.

Siri will integrate Visual Intelligence, making the feature more accessible. Currently, Visual Intelligence is activated by long-pressing the Camera Control, a gesture that many people may not even be aware of.
In addition to being brought to the Camera app under the Siri brand, Visual Intelligence is also getting an upgrade with new capabilities. It will be able to scan a nutrition label on food to capture nutritional information, and users will be able to use it to add someone's contact information directly to the Contacts.

- Nutrition – Users will be able to scan nutrition labels on food packages to track calories and macronutrients through the Health.
- Contacts – Optical Intelligence will allow users to scan phone numbers and addresses on business cards and other printed media, adding the information to the Contacts.
- Wallet – In the Wallet, Optical Intelligence will capture information from physical event tickets and membership cards, creating digital versions.
Existing Visual Intelligence capabilities will continue to be available, and it will be able to recognize objects like plants and animals, add events to the Calendar , and send visual information to ChatGPT and Google Image Search. Users will also be able to access the upgraded Visual Intelligence via the Camera Control button, but it will open in the Siri interface in the Camera app instead of the standalone Visual Intelligence experience we have now.
