Smart pet tech company Fihas unveiled its new AI-powered collar, which lets dog owners track their four-legged friends' movement, health and habits via Apple Watch. The Fi Series 3 Plus was released on Monday and features new behavior-tracking features, integration with the Apple Watch app and improved GPS compared to the previous model.

According to Fi, the Series 3 Plus can detect “ significant changes in a dog’s behavior ” with 80 percent accuracy . In addition to tracking steps and sleep, the new collar also tracks barking, licking, scratching, as well as the animal’s eating and watering habits, to identify patterns and abnormalities over time. The goal is to help users be more aware of potential health issues in their pet — though it’s worth noting that there have been reports that such smart devices can cause more anxiety than relief.
According to Fi, the GPS has been doubled compared to the previous model, offering more accurate location tracking. The companion app that allows owners to track their pets' location and activity is now available on the Apple Watch, with all the "interactivity and intelligence" of the mobile version.

The app also added a new feature with artificial intelligence for document analysis, which can extract health information from vet records, receipts or insurance documents.
Otherwise, the Fi Series 3 Plus retains some familiar features from previous models. According to the company, it has IP68 for complete waterproofing, tested up to 50 meters in salt water, a rechargeable battery that lasts up to three months on a single charge, and a built-in light for nighttime visibility.

The collar comes in five sizes and four colors: yellow, blue, pink and gray. The price includes use of the app and is based on a subscription, starting at $14 per month, with no additional cost for the collar itself.
