With the new iOS 18.3 release, T-Mobile subscribers with compatible iPhones will gain access to the Starlink network. Apple has reportedly partnered with SpaceX and T-Mobile to add support for Starlink to its iPhone lineup.
T-Mobile announced a partnership with the Starlink satellite network in 2022. In December 2024, the carrier opened a beta programthat allows users to use Starlink satellites to send messages when they are in areas without cellular signal. At the time, the T-Mobile Starlink beta program was limited to Samsung smartphones.

Following the release of iOS 18.3, T-Mobile is also allowing a select number of iPhone users to take advantage of the Starlink beta. Selected T-Mobile customers received the following message:
“You're in the beta version of T-Mobile Starlink. You can now stay connected with others by sending messages via satellite from almost anywhere. To start using the service, update your device to iOS 18.3″.
Thanks to this partnership between Starlink, T-Mobile and Apple, iPhone users will be able to automatically connect to Starlink satellites when needed. The service is part of a broader effort to integrate satellite technology into mainstream mobile networks, ensuring reliable access to communications in challenging environments.
For now, the service is limited to texting, but T-Mobile and SpaceX (owner of the Starlink network) plan to support data and voice calls in the future.
As we said, access to the Starlink beta is limited right now, but T-Mobile plans to expand the beta testing to additional subscribers. T-Mobile customers can sign up to participate in the beta on the company's website. Starlink is only available in the US and is free during the beta testing period.
T-Mobile said Starlink connectivity will eventually be available on the "vast majority of modern smartphones."
The iPhone 14 and later models already support satellite connectivity for text messaging through Apple's partnership with Globalstar. So iPhone users who can use Starlink can choose between the two services. Both Apple's service and Starlink are only available when there is no nearby cellular network.
