Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP (“Wolf Haldenstein”) announced that it has suffered a data breach affecting the personal information of nearly 3.5 million individuals.

A filing with the Maine attorney general states that the total number of people affected is 3,445,537.
Although this number was set on December 3, 2024, the company was unable to locate contact information for many of the affected individuals. This means that not everyone affected by the Wolf Haldenstein data breach has received notification.

Wolf Haldenstein suffered a data breach in late 2023, when hackers gained access to confidential information stored on its servers.
The company says it has no evidence that the exposed data has been used for malicious purposes.
The information that has been leaked is:
- Full name
- Social Security Number (SSN)
- Employee
- Identification number
- Medical diagnosis
- Medical claims information
The Wolf Haldenstein data breach dramatically increases the risk of phishing scams, social engineering, and other targeted attacks.
The situation was made worse by the fact that the company was very slow to investigate the incident and find out who was affected.
“Wolf Haldenstein […] conducted a lengthy and detailed review of the data stored on the servers at the time of the incident, to understand who this data concerns,” the company explains.
Wolf Haldenstein encourages individuals to remain vigilant against unsolicited communications and suspicious activity on their accounts.
