Brave Browser 1.71 for iOS introduces a new privacy called “Shred,” which allows users to easily delete mobile browsing data for specific websites.

Many websites use cookies for paywall systems and usage limits, which technically allow users to be tracked across sessions and make this data susceptible to being shared with third parties.
The new Shred feature of Brave works per site, meaning it can delete data from one site without affecting others.
“Unlike similar features in other browsers , Shred lets you delete data for a specific website with a single tap,” the announcement says. “This means you won’t be forced to log out of all your favorite websites every time you delete data, and you won’t have to maintain a list of exceptions per site.”
How it works
Brave's new Shred button is available as both a manual and automatic mode, giving users convenience and control.

When enabled, it deletes cookies, the local storage (via private WebKit APIs) and the hidden caches related to the network.
The option can be manually enabled by long-pressing the tab button and selecting the option from the pop-up menu or through the "Shields" options.
The feature can also be set to automatically activate on the active website via Shields > Advanced Control > Shred Site Data. There, the user can set Shred to activate when a website (all its tabs) is closed or when the Brave browser is restarted.
To configure the Shred feature that applies to all websites, users can navigate to Settings > Shields & Privacy > Auto Shred.
The Brave team comments that while Shred is a step in the right direction, it currently faces some Apple, resulting in some data remaining on devices after the feature is enabled.
The team promised that Shred will soon be introduced to Brave for Android and desktop, where users are currently covered by a similar “Forgetful Browsing” feature.
