It seems that Apple is planning to invest in the smart home sector with the introduction of a smart security camera.
According to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is set to expand its presence in the smart home and reports that the company plans to start production of a smart home IP camera in 2026 and aims to sell over 10 million units annually.

Security cameras are becoming increasingly important as Apple targets the smart home as its next big thing. These devices are among the fastest-growing types of home products, offering benefits and a variety of applications for every household. They also offer the greatest opportunity for creating a closed ecosystem compared to all smart home device categories.
Ming-Chi Kuo notes that Chinese component maker Goertek will handle assembly of the product, which Apple expects to eventually reach tens of millions of units per year. However, the company will be entering an already competitive market that includes products from Google and Amazon.

Goertek is also rumored to be building upcoming AirPods models. The headphones are said to have an even broader focus on health features, following Apple's expansion of hearing aid capabilities in the AirPods Pro 2.
