This highlights the Chinese company's ability to continue, despite the difficulties, the production of the much-discussed chip.

Huawei's Pura 70 series, equipped with the Kirin 9010 chip, was recently revealed, according to TechInsights after analyzing the device. The chip is an upgraded version of the Kirin 9000s, created by Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp for the Mate 60 Pro. The discovery of this high-performance 7-nanometer chip has raised concerns among Washington officials, who believe it surpasses China's known technological capabilities.

Huawei has seen a dramatic rebound since the launch of the Mate in August, sparking a boom in its ability to produce advanced semiconductors despite increased U.S. export restrictions. The Pura 70 series sold out within two days of its release, according to market analysts at Jefferies under Edison Li. Now, U.S. officials are considering imposing additional sanctions aimed at curbing the company and China’s broader ambitions in the semiconductor sector.

TechInsights, which was a pioneer in identifying the original 9000 in collaboration with Bloomberg News, announced with absolute certainty that it discovered a Huawei Kirin 9010 chip in Pura. This chip was manufactured using SMIC's advanced 7nm N+2 process, an evolved version of the standard 7nm manufacturing process.

The former P series, now known as Pura, has captured the market thanks to its excellent photography capabilities. Introducing a new option for domestic consumers, it could pose a significant challenge to the iPhone, which is not expected to receive an upgrade until September. With the upcoming sales period on June 18, Huawei is expected to further boost its market share, according to Jefferies.

For Huawei, this represents a significant step towards rebuilding its consumer activity, which suffered major damage due to sanctions during the Trump era. During the first quarter, the company managed to successfully compete with Apple Inc., achieving an almost equal market share in China.
