At Jamf, we celebrate the ways in which Apple devices are different, but we also know that they still have to meet the same high standards of compliance as other devices used for work," said Sam Johnson, client manager at Jamf. "This means that IT administrators are being asked to get more involved beyond traditional device management functions to help meet the various compliance standards across Apple devices. Jamf prides itself on providing a platform that is trusted by organizations and loved by our users, and our approach to providing tools that help customers navigate the broad and varied compliance landscape is no exception.”

  • Compliance Dashboard in Jamf Protect

During the event, Jamf unveiled a flexible dashboard for Jamf Protect, offering a new approach to view compliance with CIS benchmarks for your full range of devices. This innovative dashboard allows IT managers to view an overall baseline score, called the "Fleet Hardening Score", alongside the ability to drill down into detailed aspects to identify and resolve compliance issues across their entire range of devices.

  • Compliance Editor in Jamf Pro for iOS and iPadOS

This feature dispels any doubts about enforcing compliance on mobile devices. The Compliance Editor acts as the mechanism that generates configuration files that can be applied to Jamf Pro, allowing organizations to comply with CIS benchmarks. Jamf revealed that the Compliance Editor is now available for iOS and iPadOS, facilitating uniform security standards across Macs, iPhones and iPads. With the Compliance Editor, administrators can quickly create the multiple detailed settings needed to ensure that endpoints (endpoints) comply with a selected benchmark (standard), all with just a few clicks.

  • Jamf Routines in Jamf Pro

Jamf introduced Jamf Routines, providing Jamf Pro users with innovative automations and code-free integrations to enhance the power and efficiency of IT teams. Administrators now have the ability to create integrations between Jamf Pro and platforms such as Slack or the Microsoft Teams, providing automated alerts triggered by specific conditions, such as non-compliance of a device. Through Jamf Routines, administrators also have the ability to determine instances when a Jamf Management Framework re-deployment is necessary to restore device compliance, enhancing overall security and compliance.

  • Privilege Elevation in Jamf Connect for macOS grants temporary and conditional access to administrative privileges

Jamf also unveiled Privilege Elevation, a new feature that uses an organization's cloud identity provider along with Jamf Connect, allowing temporary administrator privileges for local accounts macOS under certain circumstances, subject to the user's legal identification and authorisation. During this period, by integrating Jamf Protect, Jamf will provide comprehensive telemetry about the tasks performed with Privilege Elevation on the device. This new feature helps organizations control actions on endpoints while making it easier to detect and respond to intrusions on macOS systems.

  • App Version Control within App Installer keeps apps up to date and protected

Jamf also introduced improvements to App Installers, particularly through the recent introduction of App Version Control. This enhancement allows administrators greater control over App Installer shipments by allowing them to test a version on a select group of devices before deciding which version to apply to their computers at their own discretion. The ability to choose between automatic or manual updates to determine the version provides administrators with the flexibility and authority over App Installer titles within their network, ensuring that users remain productive with essential business applications while maintaining security and keeping them up to date.
