A new application of the Microsoft Teams, faster and fully redesigned, is now available for all users of the Windows and Mac.
According to Microsoft, the app is now twice as fast, uses 50% less memory and requires 70% less disk space compared to the classic Application Teams.
Η new version of Teams was made available as a preview in March, and already then, we knew that the new client starts three times faster, allowing switch between conversations and channels up to 1.7 times faster, compared to the classical Application Teams.

Microsoft has added a lot new and interesting features, including custom applications for businesses, third-party applications, breakout rooms, 7×7 video screen, PSTN calling, a search interface within chats and channels, and the ability to post a conversation to multiple channels, and many others.
“We are focused on delivering high quality performance and improving key elements in areas such as reliability, security and IT management to ensure that the new Teams meets the evolving requirements of agency your", said the Microsoft Teams product lead, Anupam Pattnaik.
“With the transition to general availability, new features and enhancements will be available exclusively in the new Teams. The new Teams includes support for multi-tenant organizations (MTO) and multi-tenant, multi-account (MTMA), enabling seamless communication and collaboration, across multiple tenants and accounts“.

The upgraded version of Microsoft Teams also supports the Copilot, Microsoft's AI assistant designed to help people who need help users to prepare for meetings and provide answers, in real time, during chat with colleagues.
The company used the React framework to improve the speed and performance of the new Teams app on Windows, and the Edge WebView2 to reduce memory and disk space usage.

Those who have Business and Teams Essentials licenses and wish to switch to the new Teams app can do so by clicking on "Try the new Teams" in the top left corner of the classic Teams application.
