The slow but steady development of the terrifying indie survival game World of Horror is coming to an end – its release is expected for the summer of 2023.
It will be about three years of waiting, but in the summer of 2023, according to developer @panstasz and publisher Ysbryd Games, World of Horror will be released. Fans of the game, who have been waiting since February 2020, have been getting at least small doses of excitement with each update released during this time.

World of Horror, if you haven't heard of it, is probably one of those games you'll be hearing about for years. One of the few games of its kind, it combines survival RPG gameplay with a blend of weird and sometimes "silly" horror with a stylized aesthetic. World of Horror's most recent 2023 update was called Blood Moon . It was released in late October of last year and added new items, mysteries, and character origins to the random town of horror. It calls itself a " 1-bit love letter to Junji Ito and HP Lovecraft ," featuring "a hellish reality" with turn-based combat and difficult decisions. The reason it's so interesting to so many people is probably the way Shiokawa , the isolated town in Japan, is controlled by a deck of event cards that you can manipulate. It's partly your job to prevent the impending apocalypse. Each mystery offers its own unique outcomes that lead to either the destruction of the world or its salvation.
World of Horror will be released in 2023 for macOS and Windows, as well as being available on Switch, PS4 and PS5.
