Browsers record all of our online activity. Therefore, if we want to enhance the security of data and protect our privacy, it is a good idea to regularly delete our browsing history. The Safari bowser on Mac allows users to automatically clear their browsing history at regular intervals. Here's how you can set it up:
Open the Safari browser on your Mac, from Launchpad or by searching for it in Spotlight.
Then, click on “Safari” from the left corner of the menu bar and select “Preferences.”.

On the “General” tab, locate the “Remove History Items” option.

A drop-down menu will appear, from which you can choose how often the Safari browser will clear your browsing history. You have several options. For example, the clearing can be done every day or even every year.

When you enable this setting, Safari will automatically erase the sites searches web , etc.
On the other hand, there is the option to do this process “Manually”. There is also this option in the drop-down menu for users who want to check their browsing history before it is deleted. In this case, you should keep this in mind and log in at regular intervals to delete the history.
At the bottom of the “General” section, you’ll also find a separate setting called “Remove download list items.” With this option, you can set the Safari browserto automatically delete the list of files you’ve downloaded (but not the files themselves).

Note that enabling these settings will not affect your Safari browsing data on other Apple, such as iPhone or iPad. Also, so far, the options to automatically delete your browsing history and downloads list are not available in the iOS and iPadOS Safari apps.
Besides clearing your history, there are other things you can do to enhance security in the Safari browser. One of them is to browse in incognito mode by default.
