iPhone 12: Charger and headphones will be sold separately!

The packaging of Apple's new iPhone 12 will be quite different from previous models, and it will affect the wallets of Apple fans.

It seems that the company does not plan to include a charger in the new packaging and it will be sold separately from the device.

According to a new announcement by analyst Ming Chi Kuo, who is considered by many to be the "Apple prophet", it is very possible that this rumor will become reality for the new iPhone 12. Kuo says that later this year, the company is going to release a new adapter with a power of 20W, as an optional accessory to the existing 5W and 18W.

As the image leaked last week shows, the 20W charger will be similar to the 18W version , and will support a USB-C adapter for fast charging. The first time Apple included a fast charging charger in its packaging was last year with the iPhone 11 Pro devices .

The big blow for Apple fans will be the removal of headphones, except for the charger. The beloved EarPods, which have accompanied iPhones for the past decade, will not be seen in the iPhone 12, as Kuo claims that Apple wants to increase demand for its wireless headphones, the AirPods.

The analyst believes that the reason for this change is the increased production costs due to 5G. Therefore, we conclude that the price will not change much and will be similar to that of the iPhone 11.

However, even if we did see a reduction it wouldn't make much sense, as many users would have to buy an additional charger or headphones. The cost of the 18W charger and EarPods from Apple is $29 each, which would bring the reduced price to the same levels we're used to.

Of course, now with the removal of these accessories from the iPhone 12, and the price not changing, many will have to pay a little more.

Barclays analysts agree with Kuo , and claim that the only thing that will be included in the new smartphone will be the Type-C charging cable.

In previous years, the arrival of new models has been established every September. This year, due to the COVID-19, it is not clear when we will see them, and this is definitely a very different year.

Barclays estimates that iPhone 12 production is 4 to 6 weeks behind schedule in previous years. They expect the new iPhone lineup to be announced in September, with models rolling out in stages.
