HTC unveiled the HTC U Ultra during CES 2017, which is the first premium smartphone announced this year. The company also announced that the Sapphire display variant will be available very soon . 
Although it is claimed that the HTC U Ultra with Sapphire Glass will only be available in the Taiwanese market, it seems that HTC will also make it available in other countries. Rumors reveal that the new U Ultra version will be released in Germany and Switzerland on April 18th for a price of 849 euros.
The HTC U Ultra with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is priced at €699 in Europe, excluding VAT. The HTC U Ultra's display is protected by Sapphire Glass, which provides greater protection against scratches and other damage that may occur. It is also used on the main camera, keeping the sensor protected in the event of drops and scratches.
Note that Sapphire Glass is made of crystalline aluminum oxide and is used in several devices such as the Apple Watch. It is more expensive than Gorilla Glass and, as expected, provides greater protection.
In Taiwan it is sold at a slightly higher price than in Europe, at 880 euros. Internally the phone has the same specifications as the HTC U Ultra. It runs on a Snapdragon 821 with 2.15GHz combined with 4GB of RAM.
The internal capacity will reach 128GB while the screen size is 5.7 inches with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The main camera is 12MP with an aperture of f / 1.8, 4k video capability and high-resolution audio
