Samsung Vice President Dr. Sung-Hoon Hong announced Thursday at the Virtual Reality Summit in San Francisco that the company is preparing to introduce two models of virtual reality glasses that we should expect in the near future. Unfortunately , he did not mention a possible release date, so we are anxiously waiting to see when they will debut.
The Samsung representative emphasized that it will strengthen the rendering engine of VR headsets , which will lead to the improvement of augmented reality technology. Augmented reality is distinguished in four tiers and the giant wants its new gadgets to achieve the third of them. But what does this tier offer? Essentially, it allows users to directly interact with the virtual experience in the real world, something we have already encountered in Google and Microsoft’s HoloLens.
Most technological devices of this kind have managed to reach the second level, which, however, does not allow interaction with the physical space. A typical example is the Pokemon Go online game. Undoubtedly, the fourth and final level is an unattainable dream for most technology companies at the moment. However, when integrated into a device, it will enable the use of real energy sources to apply 3D shadows to the image of an object, a highly impressive sight although utopian for today's data.
