Phil Schiller seems to be the only one at Apple who continues to make a frontal attack on Apple and Steve Jobs' most hated enemy, which is none other than Android.
He recently used his Twitter account to inform his thousands of followers to be careful with Android since, as a platform and software, it is more vulnerable to malicious attacks.
Today he gave an interview to the Wall Street Journal and of course he mentioned Android, making several comments about how fragmented it is as a software but also how much it lags behind iOS.
Specifically, he mentioned that when someone buys an Android phone, they have to sign in at least 9 times to various accounts to get a close experience to that of an iPhone user simply by entering their Apple ID password. He also mentioned that iOS users have more updates to their devices and better support, and that according to both their own and external analysts' research, there has been a fourfold increase in the number of Android users switching to iOS in the last four months.
"When you take an Android device out of the box, you have to sign up to nine accounts with different vendors to get the experience iOS comes with," he said. "They don't work seamlessly together."
"Apple's own research shows that four times as many iPhone users switched from Android than to Android during the fourth quarter,"
“Android is often given a free replacement for a feature phone and the experience isn't as good as an iPhone,”
Certainly his comments are anything but random, especially since we are on the verge of the presentation of the new Samsung Galaxy S4 by Samsung, but they are certainly very apt and it is pleasant to have a high-ranking Apple executive speaking out against Android with arguments that are difficult for anyone to refute.
