Two Anonymous members from the United Kingdom, involved in the 2010 distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks against PayPal, have been convicted by Southwark Crown Court in London.
Christopher Weatherhead, who pleaded not guilty in November 2012, was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison, RT reports.
He is believed to be the leader of the group that attacked PayPal, MasterCard and Visa when those companies blocked donations to WikiLeaks in 2010.
Another defendant in the case, Ashley Roads, was sentenced to 7 months in prison.
A six-month suspended sentence was also given to Peter Gibson because authorities believe he had a lesser role in the attacks.
There is another hacker who pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him, and has not yet been sentenced.
During the trial, PayPal representatives said the attack had cost them $5.5 million.
