Here's a way to start a surefire revolution this Christmas. Give your kids a Microsoft Surface tablet instead of the iPad and MacBook they asked for.
Who would do that? Microsoft founder Bill Gates, obviously. He gave his two daughters and one son Microsoft products for Christmas, instead of the Apple products they requested.
The "revolution" was mentioned by Melinda Gates, who in an interview with England's Radio 4 on Christmas morning said the following:
When asked if their two daughters and son asked for an iPad, he replied, "Of course they did."
"However, they took Windows technology," he continued.
"Our family's wealth came from Microsoft, why should we support a competitor?"
The answer is simple. Because it's Christmas, and at Christmas you usually get someone what they want and not what your ego wants. Bill Gates' move is not logical at all. A person who is one of the greatest philanthropists on Earth and cannot understand what his children really want.
To be clear, we're not saying that Microsoft products are a bad gift. It's not a bad move to have someone give you something like that, especially if they think you need it. However, it's a big mistake to have someone specifically ask for something, like an iPad, because you're giving them something you think is best for them, not what they really want.
